web3D
In 2007 I launched Sky News into the world of web3D. I believe three dimensional, virtual, online environments will become an integral addition to the way we use the internet. It was while exploring platforms like Entropia and Second Life in 2006, that I decided to make a case for the potential that virtual worlds hold for a news broadcaster like Sky News. I succeeded in securing a budget to build an online version of the Sky News studio.

Information environments
In 2001 I started my MA in Communication Design at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design. My initial interest was interactive film making, which rapidly went down the rabbit hole of contemplating 3D online information environments. How can we navigate information more intuitively, how can it communicate with us more instinctively? I had a great time writing a thesis on 'liquid space' and ended up designing and building a 3D interface for computer desktops that stretched into a virtual sphere all the way around the user and incorporated hand tracking as part of the navigation process. Both the dissertation and this project was awarded with a first.
